​The August Fund is a nonprofit dedicated to helping dogs across Alaska find new homes and opportunities to thrive. Originally focused on retired racing sled dogs from the Iditarod, Yukon Quest, and professional sprint kennels, we now support dogs of all ages and backgrounds—puppies, adults, and retirees alike—who are ready for the next chapter of their lives. Working with mushers, shelters, and rescue partners across the state, we connect dogs with adopters who can provide love, care, and a safe, happy environment where every dog can flourish.
